Spring into Pool Season
Even though you may not be opening your swimming pool for another month or so, now is the time to begin thinking about your swimming pool. Another great season is on its way and we are excited to get you started on a few spring maintenance steps that will help you spring into your Pool Season much easier this year.
Water and debris on the cover
One of the first things you will want to do is remove most of the water from the cover with a submersible cover pump. Removing the water is required in order to be able to remove the cover when the pool is opened, but it also aides in preventing the murky, leaf ridden water from getting into your swimming pool. Tip: Place the submersible cover pump on a plate to keep the pump from pulling the water through the cover. Drain most of the excess water off you pool cover leaving only enough to keep you cover from ballooning in high wind.
We have submersible cover pumps available at our retail store, stop by and pick up your new cover pump. If you are unable to pump water off your cover, please call to schedule a cover pump off service at (401) 295-7721.
Next, remove any leaves and debris you can reach. If your cover is older chances are the weave of the cover is starting to pull apart, if decaying leaves are left on the cover this can allow the discoloration.
Pre-treat with Algaecide
Once the pool is no longer frozen, lift the cover and add Poly Power 60 directly into the water. You can just walk the perimeter of the pool while pouring the product directly through a mesh cover.
Own an Above Ground Pool?
If you own an above ground pool this is a good time to inspect your skimmer and return, checking for any gasket leaks, cracks or corrosion on the wall. If you find anything now is the time to call the service department. Call 401-295-7721 and dial 1 for service.
Schedule your Opening if you have not done so already.
Another great season is on its way. If you have not already scheduled your swimming pool opening now is the time!!
