Pool Closings

As fall approaches, we get very busy in getting the kiddies ready for back to school, but also this is the time when we need to begin thinking about closing up your pool for those cold winter months.

With winter comes freezing temperatures.  If a swimming pool is not closed and winterized properly, it could damage your pool equipment due to water expanding as it freezes.

Have a stress free closing! Let Signature Pool & Spas experienced and highly trained technicians take care of closing your pool and/or hot tub up tight for the cold winter months.

Pool Closing Includes:

  • Remove ladder(s)
  • Remove handrail(s)
  • Add winter algaecide
  • Drain filter system and underground plumbing
  • Add antifreeze to filter system and plumbing, if applicable
  • Inspect cover, filter & pump
  • Install cover, air pillows and water tubes

How To Prepare For Your Closing Appointment

We ask for you to be home if possible for your appointment.

All service calls require a Current Credit Card Authorization on file with our office.  This authorization expires on December 31st of each year and must be renewed annually. To complete an authorization, please click here

Please have all your pool closing supplies out by the pool.  These items include:  pool cover, water tubes, plugs, gizzmos and anything stored away during the summer.

Technicians need to have access to water and electricity.

The pool water level needs to be lowered before the technician’s arrival.

Above Ground Pools: Lower water below the skimmer if a skimmer plate is not being used.

Fiberglass Pools:  lower the water just below the skimmer.

Vinyl, Gunite, Concrete Pools with a Mesh Safety Cover:  lower the water below the return jets on the side of the wall.

Vinyl, Gunite, Concrete Pools with a Solid Cover:  lower the water below the skimmer.

Pools not lowered to the proper level for closing before the technician arrives, will need to be pumped down.  A pump down is an additional service and will be added to the pool closing cost.
